Rescue Me ID: 17-11-19-00411Miya (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miya! German Shepard, Boxer, and a little white Shepard according to her DNA test. DOB 4/22/14 Miya is a very sweet dog that has found herself looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She does well on a leash, and is used to walking in line next to you. She has been going on a couple of long walks per day and sometimes one short one. She's loves to play fetch and run, but she thinks its keep away, so you can use two balls and have her keep dropping the first to get the second one! She loves to play in the yard. She also loves to ride in the car, just tell her: 'UP' and she jumps in. She stays sitting in the car like a little ... (Read More)lady and is very cute! If she is left for extended periods of time, it would be best to crate her. If she is left for short periods, she does fine without a crate if you keep the garbage can covered and slippers out of chewing range. She does enjoy a good chew and should be in a home stocked with antlers, Kong balls, and other sturdy chewing toys. She is somewhat protective of house and family and will bark at door if she hears strangers. She will nudge and lick you to get you to pay attention to her and pet her. That's not a bad thing, unless you are trying to type or drink coffeeČ'Ř|then you need to watch out for the nudges! Other than that, she would love to be in your lap and be pet all day! If you are up and about in your home, she will be your shadow, following you from room to room. She needs to be slowly and gently introduced to someone coming in the house, but then she is fine with them. She will also jump up on people to greet them. She may bark when greeting some dogs and likes to choose her dog friends for herself. Miya is VERY smart and knows: Sit, Stay, Wait, Stop, Come, lay down, and paw. She is good on a leash except at the initial few min when really excited to go out. She has been trained by Barkbusters and has learned to keep behind or beside you when on her leash. If she pulls, tell her 'No' and bring her to your side. She knows that once she is back in position, she will be praised. Miya is on a grain free diet because grains tend to give her dry, itchy skin. She is a very smart, sassy, and beautiful girl that is looking for a family that will love her foreverČ'Ř|is that you? Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Meet Wolfe! Husky/Shepherd Mix About 7 Years Old Hello there! My name is Wolfe and am looking for my forever family. Don't get me wrong, my foster family is fantastic, but they say there is a family out there just waiting to meet me! I came to Illinois from Tennessee and I must say the weather suits me more up hereČ'Ř|boy was it HOT in Tennessee. I am doing great with my foster dog 'siblings' of all sizes and ages and also there is a cat...yes cat in the house! One of the neat things I discovered here in Illinois is that there are lots more sirens from fire trucks and police cars. I love to hear those sirens sing and lots of times I sing ... (Read More)right alongČ'Ř|my foster family thinks this is so funny, but when your jam comes on, you HAVE to sing, right? When I got here, I wasn't sitting very well so they took me to the vet to see what was going on. It turns out I might have been hit by a car because one of my legs has healed after what they called a bad break. After getting some good food and some vitamins, I started taking longer and longer walks and I sure do enjoy them! I behave well on a leash, going out together with one or two of my new friends every morning and evening for walks and hanging out in the yard with all of them. I am a good house citizen and really enjoy all the petting and cuddling that I get indoors. I also found out about this thing called a brush and it feels SOOOO good! My fur was a matted mess when I arrived here, but now it is smooth and silky. They say that I am about 7 years old, but I don't feel like it. I have a good energy level and really enjoy going out with my foster and new friends. What I would really love is a family that will take me on walks so we can help each other stay young. Meet Tallie 16 weeks / 9 lbs Feist/Jack Russell Terrier Mix Hi! I'm Tallie! I'm a small dog with a huge personality. I'm fun, energetic, curious and I love to play! Even though I'm young I'm an expert fetch player - I will always bring the toy back to you. Speaking of toys - I love them! Squeaky toys are my favorite but I also love stuffed animals. My favorite place to be is on my human's lap. I LOVE snuggling, especially at night, which is why I don't want to sleep in a crate all by myself. I'd much prefer to spend the night sleeping close to my family! Once I'm all tucked in for the night I'll sleep straight through until morning. I'm ... (Read More)still working on house training, but am smart and treat motivated so it shouldn't take long until I have that mastered. I'm a pretty small girl so other dogs can scare me at first. If you're looking for a fantastic and fun new best friend get your application in and come meet me! Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name is William! I'm a 1 year old hound mix and I weigh around 50lbs. I came to Illinois from a shelter in Tennesee, and I'm looking for my forever home! I'm very happy and affectionate and I listen to my foster very well. I'm housebroken and I like to sleep all night in my crate, and I'm good at sharing chew toys and playing with my foster's other two dogs. I like to roughhouse with the puppy, but I also respect the older dog when he's tired and wants to rest. I get too excited for my foster's cats to stick around, but all I do is bark and sniff them. I have lots of energy, but I'm great at matching my foster's pace on walks. ... (Read More)After a walk, I like to settle down and work on a nylabone or just lay down at my foster's feet. I have no problem with people & their hands being around my food, even to the point of taking it away! I'll sit and wait patiently for my food to be put down. However, I've had a hard time trusting other dogs not to steal my food, and I don't like when they get too close while I eat or chew on a rawhide. I need some work in that area before I'm totally comfortable sharing my mealtime with another dog. That said, I've been great at sitting and waiting patiently with my foster's other dogs while he hands us treats! Did I mention that I'm PERFECT at riding in the car? I'm looking forward to riding home with you! Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee).     Honey 9 mos Chocolate Lab/Pitbull mix Currently 35 muscular lbs. Meet Honey! Honey is a sweet, cuddling pup who loves to give hugs and loves people! She can get along with other dogs just fine, she just needs some time to warm up to them. She also loves to play and wrestle, and be goofy. Honey is high energy, who is a firm believer in the 'play hard, nap hard' motto! She is crate trained, and sleeps in her crate all night. She is working on being house broken, but responds very well to training, and commands. She is still very much a puppy, and loves to chew. Honey loves walks, and playing with other dogs. Honey doesn't mind cats, and ... (Read More)is good with kids (although she does jump, so she is working on 'off'). Honey is good with walking on a harness, and loves playing, and any kind of adventure. Honey is a very sweet and loving dog, so don't let the 'Pitbull' part scare you. She just needs a little patience to get along with other dogs (an hour or so is best). Honey currently lives with four other dogs, her size or bigger. She is used to a lot of exercise, as well as someone who can help train her with commands. Honey needs someone who can recognize that she needs an active, energetic household and give her a lot of love and patience.     Meet Willow!! 8-12 mos. 45 lbs Willow is a lab/shepard/pit mix. Pictures just don't do this beauty justice!! You must see her in person!!! She is a little shy to meet new people but will warm up within a few minutes (especially if you like kisses). She is fantastic with other dogs (big and small), good with kids and loves to cuddle. She is quicker to warm up to other animals verses people, but once she trusts you, she won't leave the pack. She is a timid dog in which she does get startled easily and will run to you cowering. She is getting better with stairs and loud noises (still hates the vacuum, thunderstorms and the garage door). Willow loves to play tug of war, chase tennis balls, and steal kisses when you least expecting it.
